The introduction of the new Services Australia authentication using their WebServices protocol gave us the ability to use innovative cloud-based technology to improve Communicare customer experience, with improved performance and reliability to support Services Australia interactions.
Leveraging the Communicare Next Generation Technology hosted on Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, Communicare is able to send encrypted data from your database via the central cloud service to support Medicare, AIR and NCSR communications with Services Australia. This delivers a number of benefits for Communicare sites, including:
For ePrescribing in Communicare, eRX is the underlying prescription delivery service (PDS). Using similar cloud-based technology as with Services Australia WebServices authentication, our new implementation for ePrescribing uses a Communicare service that publishes the scripts to our secure cloud Script Exchange, which transmits the scripts to an eRx enterprise adapter. Currently each Communicare client has their own eRx service on their server restricting visibility of any failure between the two – this means that the individual sites or pharmacies must identify when eRx and/or barcodes are not working.
Our new implementation using the Microsoft Azure Cloud Services will improve the experience and future-proof it to handle the demands of ePrescribing going forward. With the new implementation of the Communicare secure cloud script exchange, benefits to customers will include:
