RACGP Health Check

You may recall from the May 2022 Communicare User Forum that we introduced the new central dataset for the RACGP Health Check designed in collaboration with RACGP and NACCHO. To access the new RACGP Health Check, we turn on a centrally maintained dataset. The dataset includes:
- two clinical items, one with the MBS code and one without; and
- five document templates.
The other clinical items referenced in the Health Check, the Red Flags Early Identification tool, the Assessment Advanced Care Planning and the NDIS reference number have been added to the Communicare Value Added Dataset and will therefore be available after the central update has been run. These can be used independently if desired.
The new Health Check is significantly different and is a single item covering all age groups with filters on what data is required, displayed by age. There are numerous tabs within the clinical item displayed based on the age of the patient and qualifiers/questions are surfaced relevant to specific age groups.
There are limited required qualifiers and more memo boxes by design. This is as per the RACGP/NACCHO collaboration with the aim to encourage a more discussion-based approach to the Health Check. However, you may wish to clone the central clinical item and update required qualifiers to suit your specific health service requirements.
The new check is called ‘Check up;Aboriginal & TSI Annual Health’.
