The Telstra Health Medications Database is a centralised service which downloads various medication datasets from multiple sources and consolidates them for easy consumption by any Telstra Health service, such as MedPoint.

  - V22.4 Release Notes
    Communicare V22.4 is a general release that meets AIR 1.3 conformance for immunisations. All health services that administer vaccinations and upload information about immunisations to the Australian Immunisation Register should upgrade to this release.
  - V22.3 Beta Release Notes
    Communicare V22.3 is a limited release that includes support for HealthLink SmartForms, targeted at Tasmania. If you are interested in this release, contact Communicare Support.

    Communicare V22.2 includes updates for sending and receiving secure messages and a new, combined address book.
  - V22.1 Release Notes
    Communicare V22.1 includes ePrescribing support and integration with virtual health monitoring applications. It also includes minor enhancements and bug fixes.

    - Script Exchange
      The Script Exchange API is used to submit electronic prescriptions to a Prescription Delivery Service (PDS), such as eRx to provide ePrescribing functionality.
    - Secure Message Exchange
      The Secure Message Exchange API integrates with online provider directories HealthLink and Argus to provide secure messaging functionality for Communicare Classic.

      The Services Australia API is used to integrate with Medicare, the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) and PRODA.

Medications Database

The Telstra Health Medications Database is a centralised service which downloads various medication datasets from multiple sources and consolidates them for easy consumption by any Telstra Health service, such as MedPoint.

The Medications Database downloads and stores three separate medication data sets:

SNOMED Australian Medication Terminology data set
Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) data set
Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) data set
Health Communication Network (HCN) MDref drug database

On demand, the Medications Database creates a new version of medication data and downloads the required information from the source medication data sets. The updated Medications Database is stored in an Azure (blob) storage account and can be accessed by services either manually or automatically.
