Communicare v23.3 now available

Below is a summary of version 23.3 enhancements, fixes and IT requirements. Full release notes are available in the Knowledge Centre.
Enhancements
MyMedicare registration status in Communicare
Confirm whether a patient is registered for MyMedicare at your health service directly within Communicare. You will be required to register a MyMedicare PRODA device to activate this integration (refer to System Parameter – Web Services). This designed to support faster verification, reduced manual checks, and improved confidence when billing MyMedicare eligible services.
Assignment of Benefits (AoB) (Episodic – post agreement)
AoB – Episodic post agreement details are now displayed directly within the Service Recording workflow, improving visibility and auditing. The DB4 form has also been updated in line with Services Australia requirements.
For information: Pre-assignment AoB will be introduced as a Central update, independent of the version 23.3 release. Enduring AOB will be introduced in Communicare at a later date, subject to specifications from Services Australia.
Uplift to the Government Reporting Tool (GRT) – Data Updater
Enhancements to the GRT data updater improves clarity and control over government reporting updates.
Medication order screen updates
Supports medication safety and prescribing clarity by aligning order, dosage, and prescription instructions across workflows.
MIMs deleted medication indicator
Designed to support safer prescribing and improved visibility by flagging medications no longer available in MIMs, helping prevent workflows from being initiated for discontinued medication.
Immunisation and Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) updates
Enhancements are designed to improve transparency of AIR rule updates and reduced submission error risk through dynamic rule checks, enhanced validation, and updated AIR vaccine data.
HealthLink Secure Messaging improvement
Designed to reduce message delivery issues and support successful message sending by allowing text within phone number fields for secure messages sent using HealthLink.
Bug fixes
- Resolved an issue with the AIR portal integration, supporting improved access to AIR information.
- Resolved an issue with customised immunisation clinical items.
- Resolved an issue where completed recalls incorrectly remained on the patients ‘To Do’ list.

To successfully upgrade to version 23.3, please ensure you meeting the following minimum IT requirements:
- Windows Server 2016 and later
- Windows 10 and later
- .NET 4.8 and .NET 6
- .NET 8 Desktop Runtime for the Communicare Data Updater, click to download
- WebView 2 Runtime V115 and later, click to download
